Roger Fredericks Golf Swing Flexibility Instruction
La Costa Resort & Spa, Carlsbad California

As an Instructor, Roger Fredericks can help cure your slice or eke out 10 more yards on your drives. But he also has studies the human body and knows that the true cause of your over-the-top swing path or power leak is not your swing but the limitations of your body.
For most amateurs, lack of flexibility prevents them from making good, consistent swings. If you’re frustrated by your rounds at La Costa, go see director of instruction Fredericks, who will analyze your body’s limitations.
From there, Fredericks prescribes a customized regimen that soon will have you playing better golf and walking tall, on and off the course. The best part is, it doesn’t require running 10 miles and bench pressing 225 pounds-or a huge time commitment.
When you leave La Costa, you will take with you a stretching routine that is usually quick and relatively simple to perform: 20 minutes, five or six days a week. Depending upon your current state of health, you may notice results in your golf game and your overall fitness level in just days.
If you’re like most average golfers, Fredericks will focus his attention on fixing the most chronic problem area; the right hip. “Our sedentary lifestyle finds us sitting all day at the desk, in the car, or on the airplane, which pitches our hips forward into a chronically flexed position,” Fredericks says. “This tightens the hamstrings as well as the hips and not only makes walking difficult but hurts people’s golf games, because the hips power the shoulders both back and through the swing.”
